The Great Lutterworth Santa Fun Run

Sunday 28th November 11 am.

Photograph: Warming up before the start. Lots of people dressed in Santa suits exercising. It's that time of year again, the leaves are nearly all down, Guy Fawkes will again meet a gruesome end and the Christmas ads are appearing.

However there is another big event before Christmas, the Lutterworth Rotary Charity Santa Fun Run which will take place on Sunday 28th November, starting from Lutterworth College at 11am.

This as in past years provides an amazing sight of hundreds of Santa’s running through the Town, however some jog slowly and some walk, whatever suits you.  There are marshals all along the route so you cannot get lost and First Aid is available if you should have a problem.

Then the Town Band will welcome you back and all runners will receive a medal and possibly a mince pie.

Suits will be available from Max Electrical, Palmers of Ullesthorpe and Wild about Pets in Broughton Astley.

This will be the 12th time we have held this event and up to now over £100,000 has been raised for mainly local charities.

Photograph: The run has just started and Lutterworth Santa Fun run has just started. Hundreds of Santas are out on the Covntry Road Recreation ground. This year, it was snowy. This year we are supporting the local Air Ambulance, Age Concern Lutterworth, Share and Care, HeartWise, Crohn's and Colitis Charity and the Mayor's Appeal.

There will be the usual 4km and 5.7km routes around the Town.

The entry fee is £10 for adults, £5 for sixteen and under and this will include a free Santa suit, hat and beard.

There will be leaflets which include an entry form available at many local shops.
