with Hog Roast

Sunday 19th August

Photograph: Cyclists Preparing to set off.Lutterworth Rotary Club will be running its 7th Big Bike Ride on Sunday 19th August. The event starts and finishes at Misterton Hall [LE17 4JP] and, as in past years, there will be four routes: 11, 23, 39 and 62 miles. The entry fee is £12 for an adult and £6 for under-12’s and will include a hog roast to be enjoyed at the finish.

Last year, in lovely weather, the event attracted over 500 riders, at least half of whom completed the 62 mile route.

The routes are selected to follow, as far as possible, quieter country lanes in the beautiful surroundings of rural Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.  The 39 mile route also has the distinction of running directly through the Naseby battlefield site and many sections follow the National Cycle Network.

The event is organised with the kind permission of Mrs Heather Craven, owner of Misterton Hall. We are keen to receive entries from individuals and families as well as from teams representing local businesses & clubs.  There should be a route suitable for anyone who can ride a bike.

Further details about the event including routes and timings, are available on the information leaflet that accompanies this notice.

Entries can be made either online at or in person on the day. If you are doing the latter then an entry form can be printed off from the back of the information leaflet and brought with you, completed, when you register on the morning of the ride. For any queries about entries please contact Bernard Johnson on 7901782558.

General enquiries about the event can be made through the club’s Facebook page or to John Turner on 01455-554455.
