2019 Santa Fun Run

Photograph: Children talk to someone dressed as a dragon.Hundreds of red clad runners took to the streets of Lutterworth for the 11th Annual Santa Fun Run again in good weather. To date we have been lucky with the weather only having one year with a covering of snow in 2010.

A sea of around 600 Santas’ set off from and finished at Lutterworth College having a choice of two routes of either 5.7 km or 4 km both routes being marshalled at each junction on route.

Mark Thompson (who has replaced John Turner this year) said the event had again been a huge success.

The run has become a regular fixture on Lutterworth’s social calendar and is organised in partnership between the Rotary Club of Lutterworth and Lutterworth Wycliffe.

The event this year was raising money for several charities including

Air Ambulance (Derby, Leics. and Rutland)
  Cystic Fibrosis
  Twenty Twenty
  Lutterworth Town Mayor’s Appeal
Other Rotary approved charities and good causes

He went on to say that the two Lutterworth Rotary clubs enjoy organising the event and that the community that partakes seems to enjoy supporting the event year by year by getting involved.

May we also say thank you to our sponsors for whom without them the event would not run.

Thank you all for supporting us each year.
